Interview | Memphis Rap Artist Keith Hardy Talks New Music

Born in Memphis, Tenn Keith Hardy, is an up-n-coming recording artist and performer who's creating a strong buzz on the internet and throughout the Mid West. Most recently, this aspiring artist dropped his latest single titled “Big Dawg”, which is now available for purchase on Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

We linked up with Keith Hardy to talk about music and upcoming projects. Check out interview below.

PRESSED: For our readers who have never heard of Keith Hardy, describe the artist and who or what inspired you to chase the dream? 

KH: The artist that influenced me would be TI “Motivation” song really did it. 

PRESSED: Is there anything about your creative process that separates you from other upcoming artists?

KH: The only difference would have to be the way I tell my story in music. 

PRESSED: What do you tend to represent and communicate in your music? What do you want people to get from your music?

KH: Some can relate, some can’t. I just want people to see anything is possible. You can come from nothing and make it into something. 

PRESSED: Who were some of your influences growing up that influenced you music wise?

KH: TI, 2Chainz and different variety of music. Hard to think of them all. 

PRESSED: Most recently, you dropped two full EPs “Back At It,” and “901 Made Me Do It”.  What inspired the titles?  

KH: “Back at it” was me recovering from a tragedy I had survived in 2019. I was shot and “901 Made Me Do It” was more of Memphis made me who I am today. 

PRESSED: In your opinion, what is the most important element to you out of the 5 elements of Hip-Hop and why?

KH: Lyrics for me… I listen to how the artist is feeling when they come up with the song. You can vibe or try to understand.

PRESSED: What's next for Keith Hardy?

KH: “Forgive Never Forget” is the upcoming album.
