PRESSED: For our readers who have never heard of Official, describe the artist, Official.

OFFICIAL: Official is a down to earth cool fun loving rapper that makes songs about life.

PRESSED: Emerging from Lithonia, GA , how important is your hometown to you?

OFFICIAL: Lithona is everything to me. The city showed me the good the bad how great things can come out of the same person. It’s all in what u bring out of them.

PRESSED: Who or what inspired you to chase the dream?

OFFICIAL: My brother growing up was in this crew that was called “MIA,”so I used to sneak into his room and play with his turntables, which led to me writing my first rhyme then I was hooked.

PRESSED: Who’s your biggest influence when it comes to making music?

OFFICIAL: OutKast , TIP and J Cole influenced my music the most.

PRESSED: Is there anything about your creative process that separates you from another upcoming artist?

OFFICIAL: The fist thing I do is clear my mind and then plug in what moment I need to be in.

PRESSED: Tell us about your current single “Motivation”. What’s the inspiration behind the single?

OFFICIAL: On my way home from work I got four fan notes at the same time and it just put me in this happy mood. I pulled out of Atlanta traffic and wrote the song on the side of the highway.

PRESSED: What do you want people to get from your music?

OFFICIAL: That no one is perfect and you don’t have to be in a box to stand out. Last but not least, they are not alone.

PRESSED: In your opinion, what is the most important element to you out of the 5 elements of Hip-Hop and why? OFFICIAL: Five elements go hand-in-hand but if I had to pick one it will be mcing. It’s something about taking someone's pain away with your voice that makes it so important.
