Rising talent King Jaden, is a young recording artist based out of Fayetteville, North Carolina who's making a huge impact on the internet with his music. He recently released his new single "Momma Fussing" and it’s available on all music platforms.
PRESSED: What's up King Jaden? You are our very first kid interview. Glad to have you. Let's start off with your name, King Jaden. King is a powerful title to hold. Tell us how you got the name.
KJ: Thanks for having me. It's a honor to be the first kid feature. My step-dad calls us kings and queens. One day I was looking for a rap name and my best friend Kham was like you should go by "King Jaden," so I ran with it.
PRESSED: Who or what inspired you to chase the dream?
KJ: My uncle was rapping at one point in time and I used to pick up on it. Ever since I was three, I’ve been playing around and for the last 3 years I have been serious with it.
PRESSED: Who’s your biggest influence when it comes to making music?
KJ: My biggest influences are Lecrae and Fetty Wap.
PRESSED: We know people are making music younger and younger, but you being 11 yrs old, you’ve released a lot of music. That's pretty dope! When did your rap career begin?
KJ: Well... My rap career began three years ago. A friend of the family (Nysse) did music and I wanted to get in the studio. She let me come and I wrote my first song "Wanna Do." I still have the paper its written on and that was about three years ago, I think? I’ve been rapping since I was three, remaking songs, and making up my own. My mom shows me videos.

PRESSED: Do you think it’s tough getting respect in the rap game at your age?
KJ: No and yes.. No! because I’m a dope artist and most adults rocking with me. Yes! because I can’t work with artist I want to work with and I cant get into a lot of places cause of my age. (Laughs) Also, being that I'm a kid some people don't take me serious until they see the work I put in.
PRESSED: Is there anything about your creative process that separates you from other young upcoming artists?
KJ: Yes! Most young artist that I know and up-and-coming write before they go to the studio. I like to freestyle when I’m in a studio so I can just go off.
PRESSED: Tell us about your current single “Momma Fussing.“
KJ: Mama fussing came up when I went to the studio and I asked my mom for some cookout. She said no... I was mad when I got in the studio and my producer asked what was wrong. I told him and he said, "Oh! Mama always fussing." That’s how we came up with the song. When she first heard it, she started laughing. We had to get her voice on there.. That's really her saying, "Boy! what the ____ you say" (Laughs)
PRESSED: What do you want people to get from your music?
KJ: Where I come from it is known to be a negative area. I wanted to make positive music for kids all over the world to listen too.
PRESSED: What’s next for King Jaden?
KJ: I’m working on my album, hopefully it will drop this year. I’m working on my website (www.kingjaden.com ), it will be published soon with some hot features and merchandise.
